The University of Indianapolis is launching a new program in project management for people in the field of human services.

The Graduate Certificate in Project Management for Human Services Professionals comprises three courses totaling nine credit hours, offered in a completely online format through UIndy’s Center for Aging & Community. Prospective students must hold a bachelor’s or higher degree in any discipline.

The program, which begins in January, teaches skills that can be put into practice immediately in any human services environment, including social work, elder care and mental health and substance abuse counseling. Students will learn to manage complex projects while assessing the strengths of others, balancing the needs of various stakeholders and completing the work on time and on budget. Students who begin in January can expect to complete the program by the end of 2012.
